First, this Thursday, 7 March, by invitation of the Center for Writers & Translators and the Department of Comparative Literature & English, Neil Gordon will read from and discuss his novel just published in French, The Company You Keep (Le Dernier d’entre nous). This novel, Neil Gordon’s third, has been made into a motion picture starring and directed by Robert Redford. The film will open in French cinemas later in March. All are welcome to attend.

On 26 March at 18:30, visiting scholar Veli N Yashin will talk about “Al-Shidyaq’s Corpus: The Sovereign and the Author”. The talk is aimed at graduate students, but any undergraduates or colleagues with an interest in Turkish and Arabic literature are very welcome to attend. The event will be held in the ARC room in Grenelle.

On 4 April at 18:30, we celebrate the launch of cahier 19, by major French fiction translator, Bernard Turle, Diplomat, Actor, Translator, Spy. A series of short reflections and memoirs on the art and life of a major translator. Translation and images provided by professor Dan Gunn.

On 5 April, the Canadian poet Lisa Robertson will talk about her work on Abe Warburg – more details to come soon.
